Pleated Styles, Grommets, Ripplefolds, Sheers, Et Cetera, Automated or Manual

All of our draperies are made to a fullness of at least 250% for pleated drapes and 100% for ripplefolds and lined with at least one layer except for sheers. Headers and hems are proportionate to the overall length of the drape with double 1.5" side hems. All hems are hand-sewn. Seams are finished with selvages removed or clipped and linings tacked to the face fabric at the seams using a loose herringbone stitch. Weights are used at all seams and in corners. Additional standards are applied as needed. Our promise: They'll hang beautifully at whatever length you desire.

Shades

Custom by Softscapes Workroom
or Hartmann&Forbes

Romans, Austrians, Londons, Pleated, Hobbled, Balloon, Automated or Manual

Our shades are fabricated with similar standards as our draperies, lined and interlined as needed for a smoother finish and improved performance. We can provide stationary folds at the hem, if desired, and extra width for outside mounted applications. Fiberglass ribs are used to eliminate cratering and to create tidy folds along with a weighted stabilizer bar at the bottom to help the shade function and hang evenly. Mounting boards are covered to minimize their visibility and all shades are made using child safety standards. Bottom line: They're beautiful, functional, and easy to operate.

With a multitude of patterns and trims available as well as an infinite supply of ideas within our own imaginations, examples of top treatments are almost endless. Paired with stationary panels to frame a window, you complete the look. Mounted on boards or other hardware, they're finished to keep the view from the outside and underneath pleasing, as well. Fabric is railroaded, if possible, and cornices are padded for a supple finish. An almost endless array of trims and welting may be applied. Let's make a statement!

When you have what you love but the fabric is worn or dated and you simply want to freshen it up, a new fabric will do the trick. Many options are available for upholstery and treatment options can be added to make fabric last longer. Beautiful outdoor fabrics now have a lovely hand and can be placed on those frequently used furnishings within the home. I responsibly transport all furniture to our workroom and, with the right tools, re-upholster them there. Cording, welting, fringe, nail heads, and other trims can be used to update the look, as well.

Fabrics are selected to coordinate well, be comfortable, and appropriate for their use. All pillows and shams are constructed with napped lining, if needed, and completed with a hidden color-coordinated zipper, unless otherwise specified. Pattern-matching and placement continue to play a critical role in the creation of each item as do decorative tapes, cords, and welting. Duvets are lined as needed with a primary aim to keep the cover a lighter weight. Window treatments and bedding are designed to complement each other, creating a harmonious space.

Fabric selection, pattern-matching and pattern placement continue to be a focus in creating comfort, beauty, and functionality for the garden. Pillows and cushions are Dacron-wrapped for smoothness. Welting, cording, and trims are applied for beauty and hidden zippers for functionality. Shades supply protection from the sun. All outdoor soft furnishings are created with outdoor products, from the thread to the trim. It is a passion of mine to re-cover outdoor furnishings in order to continue to enjoy them and keep them out of our landfills.
It just makes sense.
